The Bradford Exchange - Endorsed?
09 10 11 - 07:31 Some LCGB members and scooterists from the wider community may may have seen a recent release by the Bradford Exchange Company of a miniature Lambretta SX200 carried a description and apparent endorsement from the LCGB, along with the Club logo.About a year ago, the LCGB committee was asked to comment on the quality of the reproduction. However, no request was made for our endorsement of the product. The committee, in good faith, informed Bradford Exchange Company that the model in question was accurately-made in terms of a comparison with other porcelain models produced and sold in the past. However, this did not mean an endorsement was given. We were therefore surprised and shocked when both the word “endorsed” appeared in advertising for this item.
Following representations by the LCGB committee, this advertising has now been changed. The LCGB committee is rightly proud of the name and logo, built up over many years and contracts to endorse items such as mentioned are rarely entered in to. We are happy that the material has been withdrawn and accept its use was a clerical error. The LCGB committee would also like to clarify that there is not, nor has there ever been any interest from the sale of this item to the LCGB.
